Match n°11 : FINAL : PADANIA - KURDISTAN

Match n° 11
Final PADANIA - KURDISTAN 2-0
Stadium : Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.                                      Assistance : 2000.
Weather :  25˚C, sunny.
Referee : Guida.
Linesman 1 : Casnati.
Linesman 2 : Modesti.

Goals :  1-0 A. D’Alessandro 72’, 2-0 A. Casse 74’.

Yellow Cards : D. Galimberti (Padania) – K. Abdullah Abdulqader, G. Othman Salih (Kurdistan).

The final, played at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium, was like a game of chess, especially in the
first-half . Both sides were reluctant to attack, however, Padania had some good chances and the best
one came from D’Allessandro who was unlucky (his shot hit the bar). After the break, the game
livened up, but Padania remained the dominant side. Kurdistan tried to surprise Murierro from distance
but their shots were not dangerous. In the 72nd minute Padania underlined their supremacy with the
opener from D’Allessandro. Two minutes later Casse doubled the score and Padania defended the VIVA
World Cup won last year in Lapland. The hosts won all their games during the tournament and definitely
deserved the title.

Weather :  25˚C, warm.
Referee : Capelli.
Linesman 1 : Dragovic.
Linesman 2 : Anders.

Goals : 1-0 S. Thomassen 13’, 1-1 E. Hammoud 14’, 1-2 J. Matel 16’, 2-2 E. Bruer 18’, 2-3

Penalty shoot-out 5-3.
Yellow Cards : M. Eira, D. Reginiussen (Samiland) – O. Naffati, J. Zeroual, F. Balegh (Provance).

The 3rd/4th place match produced great emotion. There was everything in this game, which showed what
the essence of football is: goals, plenty of chances, goalkeeping saves and a penalty shoot–out. S. Thomassen
put Lapland ahead from a free kick. Just one minute later Hammoud equalized. What followed was a scoring
festival. In eight minutes both teams scored 5 goals! Before the break Provence led 3-2, however Lapland
created a few good opportunities to level the score. In the second-half the determined players from Lapland
finally equalized (again S. Thomassen – this time from the spot). In the 82nd minute Reginiussen scored
the fourth goal for Lapland and it seemed that they would beat Provence until one of the last attacks ended
in an equalizer after Hammoud’s nice dribble. The winner was decided after penalties. Provence’s best scorer,
Hammoud, missed his penalty and Lapland’s players were faultless and won the bronze medal.
